1. Keyboard input and surrounding text
Typez does not retain, upload, sell, or use the text you type for advertising. Keystrokes are sent to the text field in the app you are using.
To provide cursor navigation, suggestions, capitalization, and punctuation, the keyboard may process the limited surrounding text that iOS makes available to keyboard extensions. This processing happens on your device. Typez does not retain or upload that surrounding text.
2. App analytics
When you use the Typez containing app, Typez uses Amplitude, Inc. to collect limited product analytics. Typez records app activations, screens viewed, onboarding steps completed, paywall views, and paywall actions. Event timestamps are recorded automatically.
Analytics events include a randomly generated device or installation identifier and limited technical information such as the app version, platform, operating-system name, and operating-system version. Typez does not use analytics for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Analytics never includes keys you press, words you type, surrounding text, clipboard contents, saved clipboard items, contact information, or the identity of apps where the keyboard is used. The Amplitude SDK is linked only to the Typez containing app; it is not linked to or run by the keyboard extension.
Typez disables Amplitude autocapture, session replay, IDFV, IP-address event properties, location properties, carrier information, language properties, and device-model properties.
3. Purchases and RevenueCat
Typez uses RevenueCat, Inc. to load purchase offerings, coordinate purchases and restores with Apple, validate App Store transactions, and determine whether Typez Pro features are available. Apple processes payments. Typez and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card details from App Store purchases.
Typez configures RevenueCat without a custom account identifier, so the RevenueCat SDK generates a random anonymous App User ID for the installation. Typez does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, Typez account information, or advertising identifier.
RevenueCat may receive the anonymous App User ID, app and device technical information, product and offering identifiers, entitlement status, and Apple receipt and transaction information such as purchase, trial, renewal, expiration, cancellation, and refund status. RevenueCat may also process an IP address and infer a general location as described in its privacy policy.
Typez receives entitlement information from RevenueCat and stores a limited local snapshot of the Pro state, expiration date when applicable, and the date it was verified.
4. Information stored on your device
Typez may store the following information locally:
- Clipboard items you explicitly save or import
- Pinned status and ordering for saved clipboard items
- Recently used emoji
- Keyboard preferences such as theme, font, rows, and haptics
- Keyboard setup and Typez Pro entitlement status
- Random SDK identifiers and cached service state used for analytics and purchases
This information is stored in Typez's local app containers and, when needed to share it between the containing app and keyboard, its iOS App Group container. Removing the app generally removes its locally stored data, subject to normal iOS behavior and any device backups you control.
5. Full Access and clipboard use
Core typing and cursor navigation work without Full Access. Some optional functionality, including making saved clipboard items available inside the keyboard, requires Full Access because iOS otherwise prevents the keyboard and containing app from sharing their stored information.
Typez reads text from the system clipboard only after you explicitly choose an import action. While the clipboard panel is open, Typez may check whether the clipboard contains text and whether it has changed; this metadata check does not read the clipboard text. Enabling Full Access does not cause Typez to upload your typing or document text.
6. This website
The current website does not ask for an account, email address, or other personal information, and it does not use advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics.
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like other hosting providers, Vercel may process ordinary technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, and request logs to deliver and secure the website under its own terms and privacy practices.
7. Sharing and service providers
Typez does not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers only when necessary to provide Typez: Amplitude processes app analytics, RevenueCat manages purchase and entitlement information, Vercel hosts this website, and Apple distributes the app and processes App Store transactions. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.
Learn more in the Amplitude Privacy Notice and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
8. Retention, deletion, and your choices
On-device information remains until you delete it in Typez, reset the relevant settings, or remove the app. Typez does not currently maintain user accounts or its own remote copy of your saved keyboard data. Removing the app does not automatically delete information already processed by Amplitude, RevenueCat, Apple, or Vercel.
Analytics data is retained only as long as needed to understand product usage and improve Typez, with a target maximum retention period of 12 months. RevenueCat and Apple may retain purchase and transaction records as needed to provide entitlements, restore purchases, prevent fraud, comply with financial or legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
You can disable or remove the Typez keyboard at any time in iOS Settings. You can also turn off Full Access without losing core typing and cursor navigation. To request deletion of analytics or purchase-service data associated with your installation, contact the developer. Some transaction records may need to be retained where permitted or required by law.
9. Security
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Typez changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated when appropriate.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or deletion requests, use Contact Support in Typez Settings or the support contact listed on the Typez App Store page. For website feedback that does not contain personal information, you may use the Typez website repository.
